Rise of a Republic

Chapter Two

My world has a changed quite a bit since the last time I have made an entry in this journal.  The Jedi and his clone troopers have helped us to advance our technology and to terra-form our sister planet Paultar into a lush paradise.  It was here that the Jedi, and his apprentice, have built a temple for them to train others that might be like them.  My father has been our senator for only three years and that means his final year as senator is coming up.  Since we have yet to travel to the Republic he hasn’t done much, mainly he has been sitting in at political meetings and traveling to the five country’s to get to know them.  This way he is closer to the people of Asyrai, it’s because of all the time my brother and I have spent with our dad that we have been found with Jedi potential.  We are two of twelve teens/kids to be found with what they call the force, and will be among the first to enter the new temple.  None of us really know what to expect and the troopers of the republic say that the force is like our magic.  Master Telnore told me that when he first met me he was able to sense my force ability but was unsure if it was truly me.  Later when he was meeting my father, my brother and I were with him, again he could sense my power but since my brother was with me it was more powerful.  It was later when he was talking to me asking questions that he was able to sense my power.  Which of course meant that the extra power he felt when I was with Johtu, my brother.  Well training starts tomorrow which means early morning so this is Rashta signing out.

Begin entry 2-14-2170 RE
It’s been months since I was able to get to my journal mainly because of all the training we have done.  It’s been intense but I like it, and my powers with the force have grown more then I thought they would.  I have learned one force move called force scream and it’s totally awesome!  Plus we have begun training with swordplay; they say that we will be able to use a sword called a light saber after we travel to Republic space.  Since we are close to building our first hyperspace capable engines it should be around four months till then though.  So I will put in a new entry before we leave Rashta out.

“Good, good that was well done Rashta and nice try Nenga you will get it don’t worry just keep practicing it.” Master Telnore said to us
“Thank you master” we replied together
“Well I have good news for you all, the engines have been built and we will all be traveling to the home of the Jedi council.  There the council will test you to see if you are ready to be Jedi knights and will then help you to get your light sabers. At that point you will be the first of the Jedi from this world but I do not know what will happen to you. From then on you will be told what to do and were to go by the council and formally trained by another master.”
“But why? Why can’t we just return to this world and train here?” Tren asked
“Ya I wish to stay here, train the next group of our people what we have learned so that they will be as powerful as we are.” Jen said
“It is your choice but if you stay you will not be Jedi knights of the Jedi order, at least in the eyes of the council.” Telnore replied
“Fine then we will make our own council out of who is here, trained here, and will know our ways of the force.” Tren said
“No! Have you forgotten what happens to those who go down the path you are suggesting? If you have let me remind you, it leads to the dark side one that will destroy any who follow it.” Master reminded us of this harsh lesson “Good then you will come with me and prove that you are Jedi and then you can ask to return if you wish and start a council if the Jedi order lets you.”
It was the last time he would ever have to tell us that again and since the engines were the last part of the ship we would leave nest week for Republic space.
